The beef ban
A herd of bulls
gathered in my colony disturbing the residents. They seemed to be very excited
for something as if they were expressing-
“Hurray..we won the battle.Lets celebrate.We got it.Got the
media attention. We managed to get into the Prime Time slots and Cover pages.”
One of them seemed to be quiet. He was the seniormost member.
Chewing the grass flavoured chewing gum he said-
“Though beef ban issue made us popular, still we should
remember that humans are shortminded. They will forget this after sometime…..may
be in a couple of days or week or may be after the Bihar elections. And our cows are very shy.So we,the bulls only have to make a difference.I have long time
plans and publicity stunts.React accordingly. When we will leave, the place
should get turn into a GOBAR Colony. This way we will make tomorrows headline.”
All the bulls nodded their heads as if they agreed.
After a few minutes I could smell the large heaps of holy
gobar lying on the road from my second floor balcony.I know cows have religious
significances. They could be spared but what about the bulls. They are considered
to be vagabonds.Just thinking on these issues I saw the bulls leaving the
colony sloganeering-
“WE WILL NEVER QUIT”.
